About Us...

The Garden of Eden was a sanctuary for God's children. Eden House - Chiang Rai, is also based on the same idea.

Created in 1997, Eden House is a non-profit Christian based home, situated 30 miles from the Burmese border. Eden House is dedicated to extracting young girls from extreme "at risk" situations. Most of the girls are Ahka, which is a hill tribe group in the north of Thailand. This group is considered to be of the lowest "caste" by many of the people in Thailand. At this time we have 25 girls aged 5-16 years.

Our Purpose...

Eden House's heart and passion is to care for the girls that God has given us. Our first priority is to "extract" young girls from extreme "at risk" situations. Hill tribe girls are sometimes sold by a parent or village member into prostitution or slave labour to help support their drug and/or alcohol addictions. AIDS is taking its toll on villagers, creating more orphans every year - some with the virus themselves. Girls in situations like these can't fight for themselves and are offered little chance of hope or escape.

Many of the girls that come to Eden House experience real love for the first time in our family oriented environment. Food, clothing, love, emotional support and education (through to college) are supplied for the girls. Through this, they are shown how to value themselves as they really are and not just "saleable" items. Eden House provides a good home for the girls who would otherwise have none.

The Future...

In July 2000, Eden House was able to purchase 2.8 acres of land just outside of Chiang Rai. Construction of the first two houses are now complete and a third is underway. Each home will house about 15 girls, and staff members. They will truly be a ‘home’ because a Thai or hilltribe family will become the “parents” of the girls in each house. Eden House will become a community of families!

Even with 3 homes, there is still lots of room left to build, and there is more room in the hearts of the staff at Eden House. Will you partner with Eden House to help build a safe haven for the girls who need it most? Whose wounded hurting hearts need a home?
