| Opened
originally as a home for young girls forced into prostitution, House
of Refuge now has 2 homes that provide healing and hope for young girls
under the age of 18 who've been sexually abused, usually within their
families and communities. In a caring, loving environment, they are
able to receive both physical and emotional healing that is necessary
for them to recover and continue with their education or learn a profession.
We feel that it is also important to have our girls surrounded by the
love of God, and most come to know Him before long.
Our third home is for younger girls aged 6-12 years old and is called
"Baan Shalom” which means "House of Peace". Now
the empty house is transforming into a real home and we can see faces
of kids laughing and playing in it.
We have also just opened our half-way home for the oldest
girls who are ready to take the last step before leaving us. Some of
them are starting work and others will be continuing their education.
The goal of our ministry is that our teenagers and children will be
able to live in a right relationship with their Creator, their families,
and that they will be able to become an important and productive member
of Thai society.
